Modular CenterTemporary communal structure  On the hills of Providence, Rhode Island, there is a parking space located in the midst of a residential area. This parking space's use has substantially declined over the recent years as the area became more and more residential. With the amount of space this parking lot provides as well as the spectacular view of downtown providence, the space seemed like the perfect spot for cultural events for the community.

The goal of this center was to create community. It was important to create some privacy for the performances to be held but not totally blocking out and secluding itself from the neighborhood.
The center was to have both a stage for a performance and a screen for film showings. The locations of the screen and the stage were set to avoid disturbances to the performance by sunlight or city light (imagining the movie screen to be used past sunset).
